Mobile Allied Health Paediatric Services – Community Therapy

For the past 8 years, Community Therapy has become known for providing outstanding mobile allied health services for adults living with disabilities, aged care clients, residents and rehab in the home patients. They pride themselves on providing expert care across the beautiful lands of the Hunter Valley, Central Coast and Port Stephens regions (Awabakal, Worimi and Darkinjung Lands); from Mount Tomaree to Patonga, Pelican to Pokolbin… and beyond!

The paediatric division of Community Therapy was something in the pipeline for a long time, and the team has worked diligently behind the scenes to set this service up for success. In October 2023 Community Therapy officially launched their Paediatric division, and feel humbled by the positive impact they are having on so many children and their families in our local communities already, as well as the exciting future for this division. The Community Therapy Mission, Vision and Values to support, enable and empower their clients is now inclusive of all ages so that they can provide essential support to our local community across their lifespan.

Embracing an evidence-based model of care, their paediatric clinicians visit infants, children and adolescents aged from 0 to 18 in their own environment. This means that sessions can take place wherever family and children feel the most comfortable including at home, daycare centres, preschools, schools, or even the local park if appropriate. The clinicians create environments and activities that improve childhood development, encourage skill acquisition, increase independence, and can be easily integrated into daily routines.

The Community Therapy paediatric team take a holistic approach and work closely with parents, carers, children, and other care providers including extended family members, daycare and preschool staff, school personnel, and external service providers to create an evidence-based program that is targeted to a child’s needs and goals. This team-based strategy ensures a seamless approach to delivering services to meet children’s needs.

If your child is in need of support, please contact the Community Therapy team and one of their local healthcare professionals will be in touch!
