Our Vision

We aspire to be a company that is accepting of growth and adaptable to new and emerging NDIS frameworks.

We aspire to bridge the gap between the mental health system and the NDIS, providing sound knowledge, education and supports that are holistic, culturally sound and goal oriented.

We wish to become a leader in the NDIS for Psychosocial Recovery Coaching.

We aim to increase our employability in regional and remote regions, building job viability and stimulating the local community with employment stability.

Our aim is to inspire workers to act within a trauma-informed framework, creating resilient, compassionate and resourceful support workers.

Our Values & Behaviours

At Sunflower Services, our values and behavioural actions are reflected in our everyday practice and culture.

Be Genuine

At Sunflower Services, we strive to be transparent, clear and warm. We carefully employ staff who resonate with our approach and have a naturally caring and compassionate outlook. Every day, we hear our team having conversations with Participants that are real, honest and kind. There is no better energy than one where like-minded people work together to create a synergy of compassion and understanding.

Empower People

We are an organisation that places high value on a strengths-based, informed and inclusive approach. Our Participants are our focus and passion. We foster a supportive and empowering community for our Participants to grow and reach their goals. We achieve this by acknowledging that Participants are the key decision makers in their journey, and by listening and walking alongside them. Our support staff are provided with in-house training, and continuous support and guidance. We hope with this, our Participants receive quality, person-centred and empowering support.

Trust

We show up with integrity and openness. Our current and emerging Participants have trust in our ability to provide honest, high-quality and trauma-informed care. Our Participants trust us to manage their support, NDIS funding and goals to improve their overall wellbeing. We treat our Participants with equal care, diligence and respect, by treating them how we ourselves would like to be treated.

Excellence

We commit to providing innovative, evidence-based and inclusive support to our Participants. We understand the importance of knowledge, education and training in bridging the gap between Mental Health and the NDIS system. Sunflower Services ensures appropriate training and educational resources are provided to all staff in the organisation.

Statement of Commitment to Child Safety

At Sunflower Services, we are deeply committed to ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and empowerment of every child involved in our service. We recognise that every child has the inherent right to be safe, supported, and heard, and we are dedicated to upholding these rights in all aspects of our organisation.

Our approach is built within a trauma-informed lens and with person-centred care at its core, ensuring that all children under our care receive respect, stability, and advocacy. We believe that every child deserves a nurturing environment that fosters consistency, trust, and transparency, where they can grow and thrive free from harm, neglect, or exploitation. We are also committed to fostering cultural awareness, ensuring that we respect and embrace the diverse backgrounds, traditions, and values of each child and their family, supporting them in a way that is culturally safe and appropriate.

We are fully committed to protecting children and have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of child abuse, ensuring that all concerns regarding child safety are taken seriously and addressed promptly with a clear action plan. We are committed to adhering to the highest standards of care, guided by relevant state and federal laws and best practices (legal and ethical). Our robust policies and procedures are designed to prevent harm, protect children, and respond swiftly and appropriately to any concerns that arise. Our policies and procedures that guide our practice are reviewed regularly to involve continuous improvement review.

We acknowledge the diverse needs of all children, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, children with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ children, and those with a history of trauma and neglect. We are dedicated to ensuring that each child’s voice is heard in decisions that affect their lives and that they are supported in a way that respects their individual needs and experiences. This means inviting children to partake in the development of personal care plans and listening to their support needs.

We understand the long-term impact that trauma can have on a child’s development and are committed to providing care through an approach that is sensitive and responsive to their emotional, psychological, and physical needs. Child safety and wellbeing are at the heart of our organisational culture, guiding our practices and interactions at every level of our work. We recognise the importance of legal mandatory reporting requirements in the protection of child safety.

Sunflower Services is fully dedicated to preventing harm and ensuring that every child receives the care, respect, and support they deserve. We will continue to work collaboratively with experts and relevant organisations to enhance our commitment and service to child safety and advocacy. We commit to providing children with staff who have the relevant training and knowledge in child protection, inclusive of understanding the signs of abuse and how to respond. All management staff will hold the relevant qualifications and education to support and guide both children and staff in alignment with child protection standards.

Together, we are focused on creating a safe and nurturing environment where every child can grow and achieve their fullest potential.
